The OAPB Fishing Foundation, founded in 2019, is affiliated with the OAPB Fishing Club out of Pompano Beach, Florida. We are an organization that strives to help our community and surrounding areas grow through fundraising for Disaster Relief, Veterans Fishing programs, educating our youth on the conservation of our Florida fishery, and development of events to help persons with special needs and disabilities.
We live in South Florida which is prevalent to hurricanes each year. This year we were able to facilitate and mobilize, along with other local companies, multiple vessels to deliver much needed supplies to the West End, Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian. Fundraising to provide Disaster Relief to areas of need are vital, and our community takes pride in helping.
The OAPB Fishing Club holds multiple tournaments each year to provide platforms for captains and anglers to get out on the water for competitive recreational fishing. At the weigh-ins large amounts of fish are brought to the scales. The OAPB Fishing Foundation takes all donated fish to our local Broward Outreach Center to be filleted and prepared to "help transform our homeless men, women, and children, and empower them to be productive members of society".
Pompano Beach has a large fishing community, and we are proud to know our captains/anglers, and will be working with organizations to bring our veterans out fishing. We fund-raise to help the Naked Warrior Project and First Responder Fishing Day with their missions, and the OAPB Fishing Club provides vessels/captains that bring our heros out for a fun day of fishing.
Kids Day Fishing is a great program that is being developed to bring disadvantaged youth out for a fun day of fishing. This provides the opportunity to educate our young anglers on the importance of conservation of our fishery.
We are proud to help several other Not for Profit organizations like the St. Coleman’s Walk on Water Fishing Tournament for Special Olympics of Broward County, and the Chasen Tailz Fishing Tournament that provides assistance to sick children.
